Gather your monopoly money
21 11 2006Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has said that every user of the open source Linux system could owe his company money for using its intellectual property. - The Register
My buddy Tristan over at the Chicago GNU/LUG posted a link tonight from The Register with an article about Microsoft, Novell, and Linux code. It seems that the recent deal with Microsoft and Novell saves the customers, but what about the people who work their asses off making the products those customers have come to know and love?
Well, how about this. Steve Ballmer believes he is owed money for all of our hard work, lets send him the money he is owed.

If anyone has Ballmer’s direct connection, lets send him the goods! Tristan has a good idea, maybe we can make a day, kind of like our Anti-DRM days, out of this.

I haven’t been so critical of Bill Gates and minions up until now. I feel that Windows have reign supreme for so long that I hoped each day someone would give Microsoft a run for their money, fantasy or otherwise. Linux is one of the greatest ideas around. Open source and FREE. Bill, let your boys know that we all don’t have $300 to drop down on a revamped O/S every couple of years when you guys want to line your pockets. All hail Linux! Windows is dying, long live LINUX!!
