The ati driver is actually an wrapper that calls the radeon driver, just look at the manpage of ati.
I was using the radeon driver, but when I ran
sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg
there was only the ati option too choose from the list.

That's too bad, I was hoping that Envy was the solution to this.
So I could finally use Compiz-Fusion on this pc.

Thanks anyway.

@Walter: No, its not. ATI stopped supporting that range of cards (9250, which is what my card is based on) at edgy. You can just about get the card working with hardware accelerated graphics on Edgy, but not on Feisty. Hence, I'm abandoning ATI. :(

Kirrus I have a Radeon 9250 and use the open source drvier called ati, because I could not get it working with the flgrx driver.
X wont start with the fglrx driver, and yes I looked everywhere for clues.

Is it possible to make it work with Envy ?

Because I have 3D now but in Foobillard the tabel is only green around the initails if this great game.

Thanks very much

Look here for a way to install flash:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=476924

This is the method I used to install flash:

Step 1: download and unpack in home directory.
Step 2: open up the directory by clicking on it in Konqueror.
Step 3: Click on tools and then on run shellcomand.
Step 4: type the password for root.

Done.
