I just received an email from flickr stating someone added me as a contact. I forgot all about flickr so I decided to see what was going on. Well I clicked on the user, who added me, profile’s page. I seen this link, http://www.ubuntutribe.com. So I went and visited, and this is what I saw.
Well, I gave my little talk today for the Ubuntu Open Week on the Ubuntu Documentation Project. The talk actually went quite quick, just under 30 minutes. However, even though I had a 1 hour time slot, it was still filled with some really great questions from Monika, Samgee, and Ryanaka. To see my little talk that I wrote up as well as the questions asked, take a look at the wiki page. The log file will not be much different than that, except for a couple of Addons I did. I am sure those will be posted shortly and accessable via the Open Week wiki page. Thanks to everyone who participated! Tomorrow I will be giving another talk on Creating a LoCo Team for those who are interested. Check out Open Week page for more information.
Tomorrow, Friday, April 27th, I will be giving a talk for the Ubuntu Open Week on the Ubuntu Documentation Project. On Saturday, April 28th, I will be giving another talk on Creating an Ubuntu Local Community Team. Now prior to, in between, and after my talks there are many other amazing talks. Check out https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuOpenWeek for more information on the talks. If you see a talk that you missed, don’t worry, they are publishing the logs and I heard they are going to extend some of the talks into next week for a second go round. I look forward to seeing you all there.
Here is what you do to come see the talks (via IRC):
Server: chat.freenode.net
Port: 8001
Channel: #ubuntu-classroom (note that #ubuntu-classroom-chat will be open for you to ask your questions during the talks.
Sitting in IRC, one of the awesome Kubuntu users asked a question. I of course answered the question, and then about 5 minutes later, another awesome user, Toyd, chimed in with THIS LINK. Awesome Toyd, I got a great laugh from this one! If the link is dead, I have uploaded the image to my server and it can be found HERE.
Ubuntu Video has been around for a while and the owner, John, updates it constantly. Well tonight, right before passing out for sleep I went through and caught some new stuff that had me laughing hard. Check out all of the videos, but the following were great:
Ubuntu’s da bomb
Wiimote + Kubuntu == robotic arm control
Ubuntu video is 99.9% all about Ubuntu. There are a lot of your typical Beryl/Compiz videos, but there are a lot of other neat videos.
Last night there were a few episodes last night on IRC in #ubuntu that needed to be taken care of. However when people would fire off the ops call, nobody was around to help out because more than likely they were out enjoying their life. Well I was given some temp ops to help manage some of the rowdiness last night and during that time I got rid of a person who decided to CTCP finger people, including myself. Well I got a DCC message which was absolutely classic. Now mind you I used mIRC for about a total of 1 year during my gaming years in like 2001. Prior to that I was using BitchX or Xchat, and after that I have been using IRSSI and Konversation. But this message was awesome! [04/20/07][23:00:00][xxxxx] Why did you place a ban in effect ?
[04/20/07][23:00:24][nixternal] ctcp
[04/20/07][23:00:41][nixternal] that is normally a *line, but no ircops were around
[04/20/07][23:01:40][xxxxx] u know thats a feature with the mIRC so… if someone is exploring a irc client wtf it matter blocxked neway
[04/20/07][23:09:04][xxxxx] what u didnt know that?!? hah u prolly dloading mIRC now to find it huh. hah get a life
Well I downloaded mIRC, now I guess I have to get a life Anyone hanging out in Chicago this weekend?
