Kubuntu 8.04 KDE 4 Alpha Released!

The Kubuntu developers are very excited to bring you the first alpha of the new Kubuntu 8.04, the Hardy Heron, release featuring the KDE 4 desktop. Available in both the desktop, or live, CD as well as the alternate text-based installation CD, the community supported version of Kubuntu is now available.
Kubuntu 8.04 will come as two separate and distinctive releases. The commercially supported release of Kubuntu 8.04 will feature the KDE 3.5 desktop while the community supported release will feature the KDE 4 desktop. As it stands, KDE 3.5.9 is the version of KDE to be commercially supported by Canonical, and the community supported version should feature KDE 4.0.3 if all goes as planned.
The new Kubuntu 8.04 featuring KDE 4 can be downloaded at either of the following two locations:

Bugs can be reported as usual at http://launchpad.net/bugs/+filebug. There are quite a few known bugs, so double check and make sure the bug you are witnessing hasn’t been acknowledge previously.

Great news! After a brief stint with OpenSuse I’ve come to learn just how much Kubuntu rocks. I’ve using KDE4 on gutsy right now, Hardy is going to be sweet!
Is the following correct: 18 months support for KDE 3.5.9 and 9 months for KDE 4.0.x?

Does this mean that there will be a Kubuntu 8.04 LTS version? While that is great news it is worth its own post: most people got the impression that there will be no LTS Kubuntu version this time at all. So for the benefit of Kubuntu, make it as clear as possible!
How do I upgrade to this from Hardy? (I’m already running KDE4 packages)
@Anonymous: 6 month support for Hardy KDE 4, which will at least get 4.1.x in it before Intrepid is out
@Liquidat: Canonical still says no to Kubuntu 8.04 LTS. If we all start pitching in and purchasing support contracts for Kubuntu, maybe we can change that. Can I borrow some money? I am broke
@Jonathan Thomas: Define *this* for me. If you are using the KDE 4 packages already, then you could just dist-upgrade more than likely from Gutsy, of course if *this* == Gutsy. I don’t know yet, I haven’t tried a dist-upgrade from Gutsy with KDE 4 packages, though I don’t think there would be any harm seeing the Gutsy packages are the same as the Hardy packages.
I just reinstalled Kubuntu with the new KDE 4 alternate CD for amd64 to test the images, and I can say that it installed flawlessly.
This == Kubuntu 8.04 KDE edition. I want to upgrade *to* it *from* Hardy.

@Jonathan Thomas: install the kde4-core package and you will have a working KDE 4. It is the same thing, this is just a CD release of what we already have/had.
@pedroprez: and you can hold on to the image and update it every release for testing
